Jacob are you insane I mean have you lost your damn mind Yelling up at the stars Saying somebody send me a sign Yeah it’s been a hard year the worst one yet But some things happen to forget Jacob the river has swollen Pushing past all its edges I know you’re weathering storms Riding these rocky stretches Mornings come on too quick like a tourniquet But some things happen to forget Jacob she’s down in Des Moines With a man that she knew before you She asked me to see how you were Worried that you’ve come unglued Jacob you’re deep and dark I heard trees all know you by name Shaking your fist at the sky Jacob are you insane x2 Watch the ridge like a hawk smoke your cigarette But some things happen to forget

Are you awake did the sound of early life break through your rest Is there some light dancing through the window to your chest Can you feel those warming fingers on your skin And would you open up a little let it in Outside the birds are calling you to join them in the yard Maybe today something new will crawl inside your heart Do you see recognize the hope of this new day And can let you let yourself be amazed Barely moving your slow breath escaping The hour is whispering quietly waiting Wondering are you aching still Are you awake do you still feel like the child you once were Would you let loose all the things that may have occurred Can you feel your body wanting to begin And would you open up a little let it in Let it in

It was the work of a lifetime She was worn to the core Those knotted up fingers Hardly moved any more Sitting back in the easy chair sleeping We were all of a feather How she taught us her ways We were forged in some fire In the way we were raised Sitting back in the easy chair sleeping With the peace of a lifetime in her head I remember everything she said

Quiet the memories that stick in my head These are the thoughts I hoped to forget Walking through the woods as light begins to break I watch the movie of all my past mistakes Look at the blue bird so balanced and poised I’m in a cavern littered with noise Missing the wonder once thick and divine I’ve got this monkey loosened in my mind Can I take a ride on your seesaw heart Somehow I’ve come to love the hurt I’ve learned to welcome the taste of bitter pills I feel the gnawing at my fragile will There’s some devotion tucked inside these ribs Still I long for someone who forgives God knows I need to find some reprieve How did I get so easy to leave I’m not as invincible as I thought I was Maybe there’s a careless god laughing up above Can I take a ride on your seesaw heart Somehow I’ve come to love the hurt I don’t need to live forever but I don’t wanna die tonight

If I could only wrap these arms around the moon There is no recompense for all the things we’ve ruined Of all these apples here hanging in the tree Somehow you happened to foolishly pick me Sitting by this reservoir wondering where you are I said I was okay my eyes betrayed my face They never learned to lie these fallible gates You’ve been carousing with those lowest angels Everybody needs a chance to try and turn the tables Staring at these wayward stars wondering where you are Lately I’ve been wondering how much time remains When I think too hard it feels like I’m insane If I could only wrap these arms around the moon And have her carry me away like a balloon Walking through this old graveyard wondering where you are

It was a Saturday night   A wooden hall in a tiny town   Dancers moved in time   To the caller and the orchestra sounds   The news from a neighbor came  You had a hard fall going down      There was smoke in the air   A big and heavy moon above  I ducked around to the side  Leaned into the wall to keep up  I didn’t want to believe  But I knew it was the end of our luck  Never take it for granted since that time   Everything changes in this life  Tiny town wooden hall an October night     On Monday back with the crew  Working the harvest all the day  Under a deeper sky  Feeling many miles away  Some things may never change  Some will never be back to stay     Never take it for granted from that time   Everything changes in this life  Tiny town wooden hall an October night

That was sad to hear tonight about our old friends Together even longer than us now they’re at some end When the hard times come around Guess I know that you will stay Keep on keep on keep on with your ways I know every year my body’s growing colder As I rest my heavy head here on your shoulders We’ve been walking this long path But today’s another day Keep on keep on keep on with your ways Keep on keep on keep on with your ways I never noticed how morning sun reflects your eyes After all this time there’s still surprise With these trees around us losing all their leaves We will settle into quiet and our routines Let me linger in your light Living on unafraid Keep on keep on keep on with your ways Keep on keep on keep on with your ways

Survive (Capecelatro) (free) 02:21
In your apartment over the convenience store You filled the bathtub till it spilled on the floor You lit a candle and slid down low Watched out the window for the big flake snow You called your mother down in Tennessee Describing your latest catastrophe The cat was scratching at the door As you wondered what this life is for Up on the rooftop Pigeons squawk Circling above them Some kind of hawk God it seems so simple Survive survive survive

It was a pretty good day Nothing impossible was in our way None of the birds Fell out of the sky onto my yard We even had rain Nothing was broken nothing sprained Maybe the bar has dropped too low I guess I don’t know It was a pretty good day I got a letter from far away Nobody cried At least not to see on the outside You found a shell To put on your kitchen window sill Maybe the bar has dropped too low I guess I don’t know Tell me how we carry on through these days Make me feel so all aflutter and amazed It was a pretty good day I didn’t even feel afraid We laughed a bit Nobody fell down or got sick You said my name I felt the love inside these veins Maybe the bar has dropped too low I guess I don’t know

Pulsing (Capecelatro) (free) 03:44
You’re in the van and you’re driving away Moving so quickly but where are you going All of your senses pinging like popcorn No one around you it feels like you’re floating You know that feeling where your body needs to feel Everything pulsing seeming surreal So mesmerizing the speed and the snow Imagining somehow you could ascend Thinking of paintings you saw in Japan Remembering places you won’t see again You know that feeling where your body needs to feel Everything pulsing seeming surreal Some days it feels like you’re watching time erase everything Seems like you’re doing a fine job still you keep being born Pull off the highway find a hotel room Strip all your clothes off and lay in the bath Stare at the moon blurry and ominous Peeking through spider-webbed frost in the glass You know that feeling where your body needs to feel Everything pulsing seeming surreal
